Love is “in the air” at Embry-Riddle! In honor of Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14, every year we ask Eagles to submit their Embry-Riddle love stories that turned into happy marriages. The following couples were gracious to share their campus romances with us — and with you! Submit your story to alumni@erau.edu.

"Maria and I met in the spring of our freshman year (2017), thanks to some mutual friends. After one summer apart, we picked up our friendship from where we left it and started dating in October of 2017.
"When I was a freshman, I worked as a dispatcher at the flight line and I noticed a cute flight instructor that would pass through to go instruct. After a few weeks, he started to say hi and 'flirt' by asking me to go preflight his plane for him. It wasn’t until a few months later that I officially met Petr through a mutual friend at a small party. Following that night at the party, we were inseparable.
"Petr graduated that fall and moved away for his first job, flying part 91/135. A couple years later, I graduated and, after the graduation ceremony, Petr had all of my family and friends, who were in town, meet at Watson Lake where he proposed! He officially moved back to Prescott, Arizona, for a few months and commuted to fly for SkyWest Airlines, while I continued flight instructing. "That following summer we moved to Colorado, got married, and I started my first job flying part 91/135. After a year, Petr convinced me to join him at SkyWest. In 2019, I started at SkyWest and a month out of training, we got to fly together for the first time! At this point, we have flown about 300 hours together at SkyWest, being based in Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport, Colorado Springs Airport and Denver International Airport. We get asked questions often by the gate agents and others who we work with, but we love getting to fly and work together! And one of our best memories so far is getting to fly into Prescott Regional Airport and having an overnight there last November! Petr is also on SkyWest’s recruiting team and works with Embry-Riddle's Prescott Campus, so we have attended the past few OctoberWest events, where Petr has represented SkyWest, while I got to catch up with old friends! Prescott and Embry-Riddle will forever hold a special place in our hearts!” —Submitted by Hannah Burright Stepan
